Our journey began with a simple belief: that every child, regardless of their circumstances, deserves the chance to reach their full potential.
In 2022, our founders, witnessed a significant gap in educational support within Nyumanzi Refugees Settlement. Bright, ambitious students were facing obstacles that limited their academic horizons. Fueled by a passion to make a difference and a deep connection to the community, the initiative was born.
The name "Konybaai" itself translates to "Help the Community" in a local dialect. It is a constant reminder of our roots and our commitment to nurturing the future leaders of our community.

We are former refugee youth, so we are not outsiders looking in; we are community members lifting up our community. We've walked the same paths as the students we serve, and their success is deeply personal to us. Together, we're turning our experiences into opportunities for the next generation of refugee youth leaders.
